The Dog Days

Because that's how things are, lazy summer when Sirius is evident, right?
I try to keep up with my DA messages but a deadly combination of not-caring-enough and doing other things has made me fall so behind. I used to check them every day, golly. That, and I spend more time on tumblr.
I'm still alive, anywho.
Destiny is so close I can taste it. The hype I have for this game is unreal, and I won't even be playing it. I will just be living it through my friends and tumblr. I will end up writing shit for this, I feel it in my bones. On the other end, I am so hyped for Inquisition. I have plans to start holiday baking since the release coincides with Thanksgiving and it will be glorious, if all goes according to plan.
Still managing to write a bit. The only maybe downside is that it is fanfiction. I can't believe I've gotten here; not because I'm one of those people that thinks fanfic sucks on principle, no, but because I have always had apprehension about utilizing characters/settings that aren't of my creation and making sure I get it right, ya dig?
This is all thanks to Bioware it's their fault.
All in all, I'm still in limbo regarding the whole doing-something-with-your-life thing. I need to kick myself in the teeth and grab some motivation, but I am notoriously bad at motivating myself to even make a cake these days.
Finally checked out Animal Earth by Ross Piper, its big on the SCIENCE and it feels like I'm in school again. But I'm not and I'm just learning on my own and it's a really cool feeling and where was this when I took bio? Oh it wasn't out yet.

It's been awhile since I had one of these.
Might write more later but a brief summary:
Still jobless, still not in college, and thus still getting yelled at by brother.
Still loving art and video games and music and basically all media that is not The Corporate News Media At Large.
Still kind of failing to work on my own visual tablety and writing arts. Writing is faring better than the drawing as per usual.
Finished A Song Of Ice And Fire some months back. Good series. I'm like the rest of you peons now, stuck waiting for GRRM's mercy. Continuing my treck through Thedas to end the Fifth Blight. Enjoying the warmer turn of weather. Have acquired more vehicular operation EXP.

Aloha folks. Thanksgiving was great, but I think I mentioned that. Or did I? Eric made twice baked loaded potatos, turkey/gravy/stuffing, homemade cranberry jelly(which was as good as the canned stuff, only it was opaque), biscuits, peacan pie and a pumpkin cakeroll. 
I purchased Mass Effect 3 Digital Deluxe edition, a fleece pullover and a sweater during Black Friday. I wanted to go to the chocolate shop in town for small business saturday, but alas that didn't happen. Didn't do anything for cyber monday either. Currently I'm flipflopping over getting some prints from Soceity6 because they're having a usual promo of free shipping. But then there's the annoying issue of getting frames for things and finding a place to hang them and by golly I hate that.
Anyway onto the real purpose of this journal, baebae and TheTerrorOfTheDeep both tagged me yesterday for some random fact spouting, so here we go.

Welp yesterday I learned from my brother Eric that pineapples are carnivorous. They have an enzyme in the fruit and leaves that can dissolve fleshystuff, and it eats bugs that way. Tis also why you shouldn't eat a ton of fresh pineapple or your mouth will bloody up.

What makes any relationship tick? Chemicals and feelings and security, das wut. But man, any relationships in this reality or a book's are just MY JAM, ya dig? That said I am not a hoooooge fan of romances and I've never read a romance-as-the-main-actual-plot-stuff book. This is a shitty answer isn't it.

10. If there was one characteristic you could take from a certain fictional character, what would it be?
I'd want to be fearless. Which, for me, is different from not having any fear. That is plain impossible. To me, fearlessness would mean that you know damn well you could get third degree burns from the fuelline that busted right there, but you chug through it anyway because there are lives on the line and those are more important than your fear.
In that regard, a lot of characters are fearless.

My brother is going into the foray that is making a holiday meal, this time around. It will be delicious.
I've started A Storm Of Swords and by golly, tis amazing.
'm also nearing the end of my second ME1 playthrough. I may actually do some fancy schmancy black friday shopping...there are some video games with my name on it and I require some clothing(I Have no sweaters and live in the Midwest. This is a tragedy.) I don't think I'll be rushing out at 8 tonight or 2am tomorrow, though. I'm not that hardcore. I love my sleep.
We've gotten the first snow this week. So far, its actually stuck to the ground...here's to hoping it sticks and builds all through the coming months.
I still haven't crawled out of the hole Westeros and all the Milky Way have buried me in, and back into my own zones of creation.
Someone, send a rope.

I just...got it yesterday. YESTERDAY. I NEED TO DO THINGS LIKE FIND A MARTIAL ARTS PLACE AND GO CLOTHES SHOPPING AND WRITE AND READ AND and there's nano coming up but
